American Public Submits Over 10,000 Comments on White House’s AI Action Plan

On April 24, 2025, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) announced the publication of over 10,000 public comments on the AI Action Plan. These comments were collected in response to a Request for Information (RFI) initiated by President Trump’s Executive Order aimed at enhancing American leadership in artificial intelligence. The feedback covers various topics, including chip manufacturing, supply chain resilience, AI model development, workforce training, and scientific research.

During the seven-week comment period, which concluded on March 15, stakeholders from academia, industry groups, and various levels of government submitted their insights and priorities regarding AI policy. Michael Kratsios, Assistant to the President and Director of OSTP, emphasized the significance of public contributions in shaping the administration’s approach to AI technology. This robust participation reflects a significant public interest in the future direction of AI and its role in maintaining the United States’ competitive edge in this rapidly evolving field.

The full catalog of comments is accessible through the OSTP, providing transparency and further opportunities for public engagement on issues surrounding artificial intelligence. As the administration advances with the AI Action Plan, the feedback gathered will be crucial in informing policy decisions and fostering innovation in AI technologies.
