Nominations and Withdrawal Sent to the Senate

On October 30, 2025, the White House announced the nomination of Michael Selig for two positions within the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Selig is nominated to become the Chairman of the CFTC, succeeding Rostin Behnam, and will also serve as a Commissioner until April 2029, following the end of Christy Goldsmith Romero’s term. In addition to these nominations, the White House formally withdrew the nomination of Joel Rayburn for the role of Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. Rayburn’s nomination had previously been sent to the Senate earlier in the year but was rescinded after the resignation of Barbara A. Leaf.
